Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role as an Optometric Technician at Willow Lawn Eye Care located in Richmond, VA. As an Optometric Technician, your responsibilities will include:

- performing diagnostic tests

- maintaining patient records

- collecting insurance co-pays and post amounts paid to patient accounts

- confirming and verifying patient benefits

- scheduling and confirming patient appointments, follow-ups and physician referrals

- preparing referrals, work and/or school excuse letters, written prescriptions for providers to sign

- educating patients on contact lens use, insertion/removal training, and contact lens sales

- conducting inventory of supplies and stocks of examination rooms

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Relevant certifications or qualifications in optometry are a plus but not required.
