Summary
The Product Quality Engineer owns key processes that are essential to excellent product quality. This position interfaces with customers and suppliers in resolving quality issues and working on preventative measures. This role is critical in maintaining and improving product quality and reports to the Quality Manager.
Job Responsibilities

• Investigates customer concerns relating to products and facilitates corrective actions to remedy such issues.
• Supports the New Product Introduction process to ensure all product requirements are identified, reviewed, and addressed so that manufacturing is fully aligned to customer needs.
• Reviews customer quality requirements and assures compliance is accounted for.
• Has ownership of the inspection process including final (outgoing) inspection, in-process inspection, receiving inspection, First Article, and delegated inspection for suppliers or 3rd party inspection contractors.
• Drives corrective action through to suppliers of cell materials and contract manufacturers when applicable.
• Guides and develops new suppliers to full Amprius approval and drives on-going solid performance
• Leads quality improvement and continuous improvement projects related to reducing escape rates and product reliability.
• Performs product and process audits, both internally and externally.
• Manages the nonconforming material handling process to ensure that dispositions are completed, and corrective actions are launched when applicable.

Requirements

• Four-year technical degree such as Engineering, Chemistry, or Manufacturing Tech

• Experience with IS0-9001 and preferably AS9100 quality standards
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• On-site at the Amprius Facility in Fremont, CA
• Office environment with prolonged sitting and working on a computer and/or working in a laboratory environment.
• Lift and move items up to 20 pounds
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes

Benefits

• Comprehensive compensation package includes base salary RSUs. Salary range for this role is $75.000 - $115,000 (DOE)
