The Distribution Designer works closely with drafters and engineering on different levels on projects.

The hourly range for this position is $29 / hour - $48 / hour, dependent on relevant experience and qualifications. We also offer semi-annual profit-sharing bonuses based on company profits to share in the mutual success! In the past, these have ranged between 3.5% - 11.5% of annual salary.

Who You Are:

• Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Design/Drafting or a related field
• Experience in design/drafting with a utility or engineering firm
  • Specifically, experience working on SDG&E projects
• SDGE Qualified Designer or ability to take and pass the test within the first 90 days of employment
• PLS-CADD proficiency
• Basic knowledge of Power Engineering and its sub-disciplines, equipment, and industry codes/standards
• Ability to prioritize work and manage tasks for multiple projects under budget and time constraints
• High level of personal initiative and ability to interact with personnel, clients, and contractors
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills and must be proficient on the computer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop layouts for power systems using PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.
• Develop an understanding of project requirements. 
• Assist in the production of details project drawings. 
• Work closely with Drafters and Engineers on projects.
