The Amherst Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher at Fort River Elementary School. Our school has a strong inclusion-based model and therefore encourages, or at times requires, a co-teaching model with a general education teacher or ELL teacher. Our school is home to the district’s dual language program teaching students in English & Spanish (Caminantes), so bilingual applicants are preferred.
This position includes the direct provision of specially designed instruction in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics to students with a range of disabilities (e.g., specific learning disability, attention deficit disorder, communication disorders, emotional impairments, etc.).
