2024 Summer Internship - Pacific Northwest Region, Chehalis WA

AFM’s Pacific Northwest region has 1 internship opening in Chehalis WA reporting to the District Manager. As an intern at AFM, you will be paired with a forester throughout your summer to gain a wide range of forestry and business experience. Activities will mostly include private land consultation, reforestation surveys, pre-commercial thinning (PCT) layout and compliance, timber sale layout and stream buffer delineation, harvesting inspections, GIS/GPS work, tract inspections, and other duties assigned by AFM foresters. Position Requirements:

• Pursuing a Degree in Forestry or Natural Resources
• Desire to learn more about a consulting forestry career
• Experience in forest inventory is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; working knowledge of GIS & GPS applications is a plus.
• Must have personal skills necessary to communicate with AFM team members, managers, and contractors.
• Valid driver’s license.

At AFM, our people are our top priority, and that includes our interns. The position is flexible with start and end dates to accommodate class schedules . This is a paid position, the pay is to be between $20 - $22 an hour. AFM will not be providing additional assistance with housing.
