Responsibilities

Job Summary

This position involves the co-facilitation of experiential/recreational assisted therapy groups for all patients as well as completing individual skills assessments as part of the initial assessment process. The position will develop and implement recreational activity plans that are age appropriate, consistent with the level of growth and development and functioning of the patients we serve and consistent with the overall treatment plans/goals. This includes maintaining a schedule of activities and outings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees clinical side of admission, including clinical assessments and preliminary treatment plan.
  • Intervenes as needed, clinically with clients in situations such as: crisis, crisis intervention, AMA risk, and special needs
  • Oversees the timely completion of biopsychosocial assessments, clinical admission notes, individual session notes, and master treatment plans.
  • Shared call with Clinical Director for clinical emergencies and consultations
  • In times of emergency, provides group therapy for patients and documents the process in the patient record in accordance with facility procedures.
  • Ensures that all documentation regarding patient care, treatment and incidents is done in a clear, concise and timely manner.
  • Serves as a team member for the multi-disciplinary treatment planning process
  • Assist in Coordination of patient activity schedule
  • Monitors group scheduling to ensure adequate programming requirements are met.
  • Keeps Clinical Director and treatment team apprised of the patient(s) special needs and potential issues.
  • Communicates schedule changes, clinical updates, and patient compliance between experiential staff and therapists.
  • Coordinate with UR and Therapist to assure proper clinical documentation is present in chat.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities, exhibits initiative by suggesting process changes with compliance through direct observation and input into supervision process.
  • Reports problems to appropriate supervisor.
  • Participates in clinical supervision with provisionally licensed Counsellor 2 staff as needed.
  • Provides mentoring and/or coaching to other staff consistent with clinical supervisory
  • Develops and conducts staff training activities to improve their clinical practice.
  • Actively participates in transition of all clients to IOP/PHP LOC; Works closely with UR staff and therapists to ensure chart documentation substantiates needs for LOC assuring that all client stays are covered and that any required extensions for services are executed.
  • Work with QA to address chart audits to promote scorecard benchmarks for documentaiton.
  • Provides onsite daily assurance of employee compliance to OTC and AAC policies with support from leadership. This includes time and leave management.
  • Oversees all aspects of the programs and facility to ensure quality services are provided, sufficient oversight/supervision for staff is available, and initiation of consistent quality improvements.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences required (social work, counseling or psychology).
  • Unrestricted license to practice in the State of employment ( LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, ).
  • Preference given to candidates that possesses working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic assessment and related treatment interventions; Knowledge of evidence-based treatments and ability to individualize treatment approaches to meet each client's needs
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of demonstrated leadership.
  • Managing experience of Residential A&D program, Partial Hospital Programs (PHP) or IOP’s is preferred.
  • Must have prior experience working with co-occurring population.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a complex and changing environment.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with other divisions, departments and service lines to support the overall mission of the Oxford Treatment Center and AAC overall.
  • Valid driver license and insurable driving record (refer to Guidelines for Driving Company Vehicles)
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.

  • This individual supervises Counselor Is, Counselor IIs, Counselor IIIs, and Case Managers.
