R&D Catheter Technician, Medical Device

BUSINESS PROBLEM, CONTEXT & INITIATIVE DESCRIPTION

Our client is a privately held medical device company based in Massachusetts who innovates in the area of arterial fibrillation. Their focus is dedicated to advancing innovative treatments while creating more accessibility to patients in need. They have recently acquired a world leading organization and are working on the next generation of cardiac ablation system. The company is positioned well for rapid growth, while also allowing employees to be a part of purposeful mission in developing lifesaving technologies.

DUTIES / EXPECTATIONS OF THIS ROLE

· Hands on assembly of medical devices such as catheters, cables, connectors, solder joints, screening rings, and catheter tubes.

· Working with a microscope, tweezers, and other tools to assemble medical devices.

• Process development and refinement of assembly steps.
• Collaborate with technical team members to build, test, and evaluate results in a timely manner.

MUST HAVES - QUALIFICATION SUMMARY

• Demonstrated success in the development, commercialization, or production of catheter-based disposable devices.
• Language skills: ability to read and understand SOP's and manufacturing procedures. Ability to write simple procedures, instructions and/or notebook entries and effectively discuss them with other members of a multi-disciplinary team (R&D, MFG, Quality).
• Experienced in electro-mechanical devices
• Mathematical skills: basic arithmetic.
• Computer skills: basic spreadsheet or database entry ability.
• Ability to operate common test equipment (multimeters, Instron type testers).

NICE TO HAVE

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge of sophisticated medical catheters, electro-optics and/or precision mechanisms are all highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of catheter fabrication techniques and processes required.
