SUMMARY
The nurse shift supervisor is responsible for overseeing day to day patient care, supervising, directing and developing nurse staff, and reporting to the Director of Nursing to ensure quality patient care. Due to the degree of involvement, it is important that individuals seeking out this role are compassionate and have an innate desire to make a positive difference in the lives of those around them.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises LPNs, LVNs, graduate nurses, certified nursing assistants
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
Shift work may be required. Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk and hear. Employee will occasionally assist to lift and /or transfer patients weighing between 100 to 250 pounds. Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemical. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
