The job:
This position will oversee the financial management of a full-service marketing provider focused on printing, apparel, signs & promotional products, with six locations across central Kentucky and Northern Tennessee.
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the Leadership Team reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and supporting members of the Leadership Team. The position is an in-person, on-site role based in Bowling Green, Kentucky and will be expected to travel occasionally to all six office locations.
  • The CFO has the primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities. These include accounting, finance, forecasting, budgeting, tax compliance, legal, and financial reporting functions.
  • This position will also lead and/or support key system improvement projects and opportunities as they relate to and drive the companys overall strategy.
  • In addition, the CFO formulates, recommends, and implements policies on cash management, equity and/or debt financing, risk management, and the maximization of investment and cash flow returns.
  • The CFO is a proactive participant, finance team leader and financial authority to the Leadership Team in planning, direction, and policy making. The CFO is responsible and committed to displaying, communicating, and supporting the mission, vision, and values of the Company.
Who you are: You are a strong communicator. Because you must often present complex concepts in a way that can be easily understood, clear and concise communication is essential. You possess a strategic mindset, allowing you to plan and analyze company finances. You have an acumen for financial foresight, being able to anticipate challenges and problems before they become insurmountable. You are a collaborator you will be working directly with the CEO and the Vice Presidents to give them accurate and timely financial updates. You are a person of integrity. The information you are privy to is both sensitive and private your discretion and confidentiality are foundational expectations. Specific qualities:
  • 10 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably within the manufacturing, printing, paper, signs, apparel, or related industry. Additional experience in capital equipment or digital transformation a strong plus.
  • Previous experience in auditing and with controller duties.
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain, COGS, and inventory issues.
  • Start-up to corporate level experiences with emphasis on process improvement and organizational efficiency.
  • Experience developing controls and processes in an organization.
  • Has the ability to move back and forth between day-to-day operations and strategy
  • Strong business partner and organizational leader with proven record of hiring, developing, and managing high quality team members.
  • Proven strategic problem solver with strong tactical execution.
  • Results oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Confident professional able to proactively resolve issues and challenge assumptions.
  • Hands-on individual with a strong work ethic.
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA/MBA a strong plus
Planning : The CFO will develop and provide pathways for the companys financial strategy, keeping in line with our overall objectives. Developing budgets and financial forecasts are key to this role. This position will identify and mitigate financial risks. The strategies that you implement and maintain will protect the companys financial assets. The CFO will also establish and maintain effective internal controls. By ensuring that these controls are followed you further protect the financial health and stability of the company. Execution: The CFO will prepare and present financial reports to the CEO and Leadership Team. This role ensures that our accounting standards and regulations are followed. This position also engages with cash flow management and ensures the availability of funds for daily operations. The CFO provides financial insights to support strategic decision making. This role ensures that effective internal controls are in place, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. As the supervisor of corporate accountants, this role ensure that deadlines are met and that all procedures are followed accurately.
