Job Description: PURPOSE OF JOB
A nonexempt position responsible for performing a variety of duties dependent upon assignment. Position will be assigned based on practice need and will flex between front desk and clinical area based on assessment of daily needs.
Front desk coordinator primary functions : Providing reception, scheduling, patient check-in, patient check-out, telephone service, and other patient-related services.
Medical assistant/ETT primary functions : Assist physicians and provide clinical support services in a practice providing medical and diagnostic cardiac care to patient in an outpatient setting. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
General:
1. Adaptable knowledge base and communication skills to perform assignment.
2. Adaptable computer skills and ability to perform functions dependent upon department assignment.
3. Other duties as assigned.
Front desk:
1. Scheduling, insurance verification.
2. Proficiency in telephone and communications skills.
Clinical
1. Patient care assisting physicians in preparing patient visits, communicating with physicians, patients, families and other health care providers.
2. Obtain patient vital signs and other clinical data including: weight, height, blood pressure, apical pulse, EKG performance, pulse ox, obtain and maintain accurate medication, problem lists and chart documentation at all times.
3. Ability to identify abnormal vital signs to be reported to a physician promptly.
4. Respond following office protocols on in-office emergencies.
5. Ability to prep patients for cardiac stress testing including: obtaining patient consents; physical preparation (electrode placement); selecting and preparing appropriate prescribed protocol; monitoring system during testing and printing reports per practice protocol.
Job Qualifications: Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Medical assistant diploma or certification; Cardiac technician certification; LPN licensure or equivalent experience; valid, current certification preferred.
Experience: Two years of health care experience, office and cardiac experience preferred.
Other Skills: EMR Knowledge (E-Clinical Works experience preferred but not required)
