REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience working in the medical/healthcare billing area, with strong, demonstrated knowledge of managing claims processing.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of revenue cycle, collections and payment posting, medical billing, Medicare and Medicaid, and third-party payers.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, clinicians and payors in person, over the telephone, and in writing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations for all client PHI.
• Completing and submitting Government and Commercial Insurance claims.
• Investigate unpaid and denied claims. Report delinquent accounts to the Billing Manager.
• Works with clients in account resolution for complex billing issues and/or client out of pocket responsibilities.
• Perform insurance and benefit verification duties as needed.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
