Job Title: Production Line Lead

Department: Custom Packaging

Reports To: Distribution Manager

Position Type: Full Time

Shift: 1st-Shift 6:30a-3:00pm Monday-Friday with OT if needed

Pay rate: $18.00

Purpose of Position

Ensure that daily assigned Value Added work order(s) meet productivity goals, quality requirements and customer expectations.

Initiative

Seeks out additional work when job tasks are completed. Goes above and beyond required tasks. Participate in pre-shift meetings and department meetings. Display pride in your work area by maintaining daily housekeeping of our operations building, equipment, break rooms, restrooms, smoke areas, etc… Promote teamwork and assist in all areas and processes in the operation as needed / required.

Quality of Work

Maintains high standards despite pressing deadlines. Produces accurate, thorough and professional work. Understands the importance of “Only Handle It Once – OHIO”, by completing work correctly the first time.

Follows directions

Follows all written and verbal instructions provided by management, project leader, etc…

Communication

Shares all information in a professional and factual manner ensuring the best decisions are made for the company. Report all issues to your manager/supervisor.

Appearance

Maintains an appropriate appearance and dresses in accordance with the established dress code guidelines to your respective position.

Safety

Follows all rules, guideline, and practices. Informs supervisor / manager immediately if unsafe conduct or conditions arise.

Position Competency

  • The ability to provide work direction and to motivate work force to achieve daily goals.
  • The ability to perform basic arithmetic, reading and writing skills.
  • The ability to perform basic mechanical functions.

Position Expectations

Productivity:

  • Meet established hourly production standards and escalate all production issues per SOP.
  • Review and understand the customer’s work instructions prior to working on any assigned orders.
  • If applicable, keep visual goal chart updated hourly.
  • Understand all procedures for operating machines

Quality:

  • Ensure and document that product is packed correctly and that it meets the customers requirements (product placement, labeling, packaging materials, date code, film quality and placement, overall appearance of finished product) at the beginning of each shift, new production runs, and every hour.

Documentation

  • Accurately complete associated paperwork (including customer required documentation), Production Report, Production Audit, Value Add Inspection form and submitted at end of shift.

Initiative:

  • Immediately report any issue relating to personnel, productivity, equipment, and/or quality to your supervisor / manager.
  • Make recommendations to improve efficiency in the daily processes.

Safety:

  • Understand all procedures for operating machines
  • Report all incidents/accidents or unsafe acts immediately to your supervisor/ manager.
  • Promote safety awareness with your teammates and provide safety suggestions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure all safety guards are in place on all equipment.
  • Ensure all safety policies, practices and SOPs are being followed.
