Location: Houston, TX 77030 (Medical Center Area)
Private University in Houston Texas seeking to hire a Manual Machinist for R&D type work to support their Research Support Team. Temp to hire position. This position will be working closely with graduate students and faculty to produce scientific instrument parts for research.
- Manual Machinist with mill and lathe experience
- Experience with plastic, aluminum and stainless steel
- Able to manufacture small parts/job shop
- Hurco CNC milling machine is a plus/not necessary
- Mastercam a plus
- Bridgeport milling machines
- Hardinge HLV precision lathes
- LeBlond lathes
- Vertical saw
- Horizontal cutoff saw
- Tool grinders
- Belt sander
- Hydraulic press
- Vocational training is preferred
- 8 years of experience
- Mill and lathe experience
- Able to perform simple geometry equation/shop math
- Saw experience
- Must have own tools
