**Description**

**Summary:**

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of goods and synchronizing all work functions with the suppliers, inventory management, material flow, transportation, and shipping/receiving. Establishes standardized work instruction/procedures for each area of responsibility with an effective cross-training plan.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

(This description is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continual basis. It does not exclude other duties that may be assigned.)

* Manages and controls inventory, conducts/manages physical inventories and see that cycle counting is conducted to verify inventory accuracy on an ongoing basis

* Works in conjunction with production to optimize inventory cost and improve inventory turns. Develops pull system to maximize inventory efficiency and minimize wastes of over-production, storage, scrap, and transportation. See that all personnel are conforming to system transaction processing rules to ensure inventory accuracy

* Recommend and implement policies, practices and methods for improving safety, operational efficiency, storage and waste reduction

* Manages all outbound and inbound freight/receiving activities to ensure safety, OTD to customer, inventory accuracy, and optimization of freight costs

* Develops / improves flow of raw materials, work-in-progress inventory, and final products through the production chain

* Provide lean training (i.e. 5S, Kaizen, standardized work, error-proofing, visual signals, etc.) and facilitate improvement events as needed

**Education/ Experience**:

* Bachelors degree in business, logistics, procurement, or other related degree or equivalent years of experience required.

* Must have good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines

* Professional verbal and written communication skills essential

* Must have strong technical skills and experience

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

* Must have experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment with J.I.T.

* Experience with ISO9001 requirements and TS16949.

* 5 years inventory management experience

* 5 years of traffic control management

* Must have 5 years minimum experience working with MRP II systems (JD Edwards experience a plus).

* Prefer Automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 experience.

* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

* Ability to multi-task, set priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

This position requires frequent routine walking and climbing of stairs from the engineering department to the plant floor.
