The City of Fremont seeks a strong administrator to lead the newly formed Maintenance Operations Department as their new Maintenance Operations Director. The successful candidate brings a solid background in all City maintenance operations, including maintenance of city right-of-ways, the City’s vehicle fleet, facilities, public buildings, and parks.

Candidates with a proven track record of leading culture change and encouraging, coaching, and mentoring staff to consider innovative approaches in day-to-day operations are encouraged to apply. In this position, the successful candidate is a self-starter, with a proactive, relationship-based and inspirational managerial approach and an active communication style. The next Director will prioritize the operation and maintenance of city assets, monitor and evaluate the efficiency of service delivery methods and identify opportunities for improvement. The salary range for this outstanding opportunity is $225,750 - $304,500, plus a 4% wage increase in July 2024. Placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications.
