Alabama Regional Medical Services is Hiring a Dentist (Part-time) Near Birmingham, AL

SUMMARY: The Dentist will be responsible for the examination, diagnosis and treatment of disease, injuries, and malformation of teeth and gums. May treat diseases of nerve, pulp and other dental tissues affecting oral hygiene and retention of teeth. May fit dental appliance and provide preventive care.

PART-TIME POSITION - FRIDAYS (7:30-4:30)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Examines patient to determine nature of condition.
  • Cleans teeth and provides preventive dental services to patient such as applications of fluoride and sealants to teeth.
  • Place crowns on injured teeth and fills cavity.
  • Injects painkiller into patient's gum and extracts diseased teeth.
  • Designs and makes dentures to replace missing or diseased teeth.
  • Educates patient in oral and dental hygiene.
  • Oversight of Department policies and procedures in accordance with established clinical guidelines.
  • Technical supervision of Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistant.
  • Provide oversight for dental students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience practicing with both pediatric and adult population.

Experience performing basic oral surgery procedures

Experience performing endodontic procedures

Experience working with Electronic Dental Record (EDR) and digital radiographs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Doctoral degree in Dental Medicine

State of Alabama Dental License

State of Alabama Controlled Substance Licensure

DEA Licensure

At least one-year experience as a Dentist

2 or more years experience supervising a dental clinic and staff
