Behavioral Health Clinician

​Residential Youth Care (RYC) is seeking qualified, licensed applicants for a full-time Behavioral Health Clinician to provide individual, group, and family therapy to adolescents experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or emotional difficulties, who may be in crisis, involved in the legal system, or are in state’s custody.
Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field required. Must posses State of Alaska licensure or be eligible to pursue licensure reciprocity with the State of Alaska.. Preference given to those with experience working with adolescents and families, experience in a residential treatment setting, and/or substance abuse certification. Familiarity with Medicaid billing and documentation a plus. Qualified candidates will be self-motivated, organized, have excellent interpersonal and verbal/ written communication skills, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment, dealing effectively and skillfully with volatile situations.

RYC is a fast-growing community-based residential treatment home and behavioral health clinic that provides clinic and therapeutic behavioral health rehabilitation services to clients age 10-18 (residential), focusing on 15 key social skills for life success. RYC offers a short-term level II emergency stabilization program (45-90 days) in addition to long-term level III residential treatment (90-180 days). RYC also offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of individual clients; including School Support Services with credit recovery (individualized educational plans, study skills group, year-round school), and Transition programming to older youth pursuing independent adulthood. RYC clients have a variety of opportunities to practice skills in the community setting with daily recreational activities, engagement in mainstream education, and employment or volunteer/community work service opportunities. RYC serves clients and families from all over Alaska as a part of a state-wide system of care, and is continuing to grow and change to meet the needs of our region and state. Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field
  • 2 years of clinical social work/counseling experience
  • Eligible to pursue State of Alaska licensure
  • 21 years of age
  • Valid Alaska Drivers License and clean driving record
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment and computers, including word processing and email
  • Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR and MANDT certification following hire
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Job Type: Full Time, Exempt
Salary: starts out at $80,000 DOE.
Benefits: Health insurance, HRA, Health Insurance Waiver Monthly Stipend, Life insurance, free access to RYC's Fitness Center, 403 B Retirement plan 5% annual employer contribution, paid leave, and 8 paid holidays.

RYC is currently offering a $5000 sign on bonus for newly hired Clinicians paid in installments after their first 30, 60, 90 days and 6 months of hire.

Pay: $78,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
