We are looking for a Test Engineer to join the Systems Test Team and support the design, assembly and commissioning of test fixtures used for the development, production and certification testing of Wisk Gen 6 Aircraft systems. Among other systems, you will be working on the Wisk Gen 6 Iron Bird integration effort.
Why we need you:
You will design, assemble and commission test fixtures for aircraft component and system level tests, including avionics, propulsion and battery. You will be responsible for creating assembly and installation drawings, as well as wiring schematics. You will be hands-on supporting the assembly of the fixture and verification activities. The successful candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, hands-on and a driver for best safety practices.
What you will do:
Support the mechanical and electrical design, procurement, manufacturing and assembly of test fixtures and harnesses
Integrate flight hardware and commission test fixtures
Work closely with a cross functional team to develop test fixture conceptual design and requirements
Make design considerations for structural integrity, thermal consideration, and safety
Write test specification, operation manual and test procedures
Design and analyze mechanical fixture assemblies
Develop and release wiring diagrams and harness drawings
Select and get quotes for parts, sensors and test equipment
Conduct design reviews and get feedback on your design
Create 3D CAD models using NX
Create and release 2D mechanical drawings
Source and coordinate external suppliers
Hands-on assembly of electro/mechanical test fixtures
Integrate, power-on and configure flight hardware.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and software issues during testing
Maintain test stations, configuration management, calibration log and upgrade them with the latest hardware and software versions
Ensure and improve safety protocols
What you have done:
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or related engineering degree
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency with CAD software such as Siemens NX(preferred) or Solidworks.
Hands on experience assembling electro-mechanical hardware
Familiar with FEM software FEMAP/Nastran (preferred) or Hypermesh/Optistruct
Familiar with drafting standards, including GD&T, and can interpret or create engineering drawings
Desired:
Experience with data acquisition devices (NI, Labview) and transducers
Familiarity with aerospace and/or electro-mechanical systems
Experience with High Voltage systems (600V)
Experience with test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, Data Acquisition Systems)
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment

Pay Range the Company expects to pay:$95,700 - $110,000 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
