Volunteer Behavioral Health Care System is currently seeking a Program Director in the Rutherford County Area. Covering Middle TN and the Upper Cumberland Region.
Salary starting rage: 46,000, based on experience.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field. Master’s degree preferred. Experience working with veterans, their families and/or homeless populations is preferable and having veteran status is preferred.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensuring that team members adhere to specific grant requirements, implement screening procedures and completing screenings as needed, ensuring documentation as required by the Veterans Administration, grant and agency is completed in timeframes designated and with accuracy and professionalism is required. Duties include development and adherence to program implementation plans, program marketing and community outreach, relationship development, resource development, direct supervision of outreach and case management staff, team development, and representing the agency in meetings related to veterans services and grant activities. Ensuring adherence to VA requirements, reporting and evaluation of the program are responsibilities of the program director. The program director will work with the outcomes evaluation staff to ensure deliverables are met and outcomes documented. Reducing homelessness or risk of homelessness among veterans and families is the primary goal of the program and all duties and responsibilities of the employee revolve around meeting this goal per grant requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, and abilities):
Knowledge of issues facing veterans and their families and homelessness is required. Knowledge of community resources and an ability to work within communities to develop new resources that assist veterans and their families, excellent communication skills, writing skills and an ability to speak in public is necessary in completing duties of this position. Ability to develop a strong team, train team members on grant specifics and implement strategies that reflect the vision and goals of the program, and complete tasks in an independent manner as well as work closely with external customers such as the Veterans Administration is required. Ability to understand and implement grant requirements and complete paperwork related to grant specifics is required.
