AEDD is Hiring a Food Service Worker Near North Little Rock, AR

We are looking for someone to work in our Kitchen that displays a great attitude, that loves children and enjoys cooking. This person will be responsible for assisting with cooking and serving Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks, completing weekly food inventory, cleaning the kitchen and cafeteria area. This position requires standing, walking, stooping, bending and some lifting up to but not limited to 20lbs. Promptness and dependability is a MUST!
Rat of Pay : $12.50
Hours: 6:00am - 2:00pm
Requirements: HS Diploma or GED, Driver's License or State ID, Must be able to pass Criminal Background and Drug screen.
Summary: Prepares and cooks meals for children and employees while following the USDA food guidelines. Responsible for cleaning all kitchen and cafeteria areas on a daily basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Works closely with Receptionist to retrieve attendance count for lunch and snack purposes.
  • Prepares and cooks food in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served, while ensuring compliance with USDA food guidelines.
  • Serves children breakfast, lunch and snack based on planned menus. Alternate menus if needed due to food availability. Also serves lunch to staff members, as appropriate.
  • Prepares and cooks food for special activities or events at SGSCLC.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the kitchen and cafeteria areas by completing the following duties, including but not limited to: washes dishes using dishwasher or by hand daily; sweep and mop kitchen area daily; clean freezer, refrigerator and pantry on a weekly basis; cleans oven, stove tops and food warmer on an as needed basis; wipes down cafeteria tables, sweeps cafeteria floor after breakfast and after lunch each day; pulls trash daily, cleans kitchen bathroom daily, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with AR Department of Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Orders food and kitchen supplies weekly, while being cost effective
  • Completes food production paperwork on a daily basis and submits food production paper work at the end of each month to supervisor.

Safety Sensitive Position : This is a safety sensitive position as it involves operating a motor vehicle as part of the job duties and a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death to the consumers being transported. All positions classified as safety must refrain from reporting to work or being subject to duty while their ability to perform job duties is impaired due to the use of alcohol or other drugs. All positions classified as safety sensitive are prohibited from testing positive for metabolites of substances that are listed in the schedules of the Federal Controlled Substances Act and the Arkansas Uniform Controlled Substances Act, regardless of whether the employee possesses a medical marijuana registry identification card. See id. at 3(f)(3)(B)(iii). This policy applies during all work hours, whenever conducting business for AEDD.
