Nexus Automation is Hiring a Journeyman CNC Machinist Near Livermore, CA

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Journeyman CNC machinist to come join our team in Livermore, CA. We’re a small, tight-knit shop where everyone is hands-on in multiple aspects of the company. Your initial primary responsibility will be to operate our CNC mills (3 axis and 5 axis). Depending upon experience, responsibilities may expand to include lathe machining, programming, EDM machining, and other areas.

Requirements

15 years experience operating a CNC mill (experience operating a lathe is a plus)
Comfortable setting up and operating a CNC mill without supervision
Able to keep multiple machines running
Able to calculate feeds and speeds
Able to understand G code
Some understanding of programming
Understanding of different types of materials, their grades and relative machinability
Able to read and understand shop drawings
Able to lift 25 lbs, push heavy carts or crates, and can stretch, reach, kneel, or crawl as may be required by certain tasks
Monitor machinery in order to identify necessary maintenance or safety issues
Maintain a clean and organized work area
