Consumer Credit Counseling Service is Hiring a Classroom Teacher (Humanities) Near Walnut Creek, CA
Job Summary:
The Classroom Teacher is focused on delivering instruction and assessing student learning based on high-quality unit plans in their assigned English, Social Studies and Bible classes. Whether in Middle or High School, the Classroom Teacher plays a central role in the success of Contra Costa Christian Schools (CCCS) in instruction for language arts, Bible, history and possibly electives in those subjects. The Classroom Teacher's responsibilities also include the following:
High-Quality Instruction
- Deliver instruction and assess student learning based on high-quality unit plans designs that incorporate faith, are aligned with CCCS yearly goals and student outcomes
- Establish and maintain a respectful culture of learning in a well-managed classroom
- Engage and assess student learning through the delivery of daily lessons
- Reflect on personal teaching practice in order to develop and grow professionally
- Maintain accurate, timely records of instructional and non-instructional events
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and professional development
- Maintain professional relationship with colleagues and work together for improved instruction and student success
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement and support school activities, including spirit weeks, field trips and chapels
- Build and maintain community relationships with students and families
- Commitment to and support of CCCS mission, vision and values
- Commitment to abide by the CCCS Employee Handbook
- Possible all school event participation and event planning responsibilities
- Occasional weekend and evening responsibilities

Type of Position:
This is a Regular Full-Time Teacher/Salaried position, Classification A in the CCCS Employee Handbook.
Required Personal Qualities:

Requirements
Required Professional Qualities:
- Hold a State/ACSI Certification or will participate in a program to complete the requirements for certification within a specified time period.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field or will participate in a program to complete such a degree within a specified time period
- Demonstrate a reasonable level of computer literacy. Basic proficiency is needed in word processing, e-mailing, and accessing the Internet.
- Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the Head of School.
