ABOUT THE ROLE:
General Manager (GM) translates the highest-level strategies and goals into operating plans that drive the business. The GM is responsible for every aspect of operations and has total overall accountability for metrics and activities at the facility.
While the tasks and responsibilities of the General Manager are similar to that of the manager, the GM is expected to provide a more granular and detailed focus to each business task to ensure optimal efficiency and customer focus.
This position requires daily interaction with the team, coaching and working with them, and positive face-to-face and verbal interaction at all levels of the organization.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Embody the Bluebird Way and the Bluebird Values and inspire everyone to do the same.
  • Lead with WHY! Whether it is a coaching opportunity about a procedure or a difficult conversation with a customer, always start with WHY.
  • Ability to lead a team in concert with Senior Leadership to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
  • Effectively manage the financials for the location by using the FLASH Reports to make decisions to ensure that the site meets and exceeds expectations. Every metric on the flash report is a crucial driver of the business and critical to our success as a company.
  • Ensure that the location team(s) complete all Standard Operating Procedures on time and accurately. If there is a need to revisit an SOP for operational efficiency, the GM should share the WHY around the SOP suggested revision.
  • Grow customer volume, loyalty, and the store's profitability.
  • Lead a positive, high-energy environment that ignites customers' return.
  • The GM is expected to operate in and has working knowledge of all areas of the location and be able to work in those areas as effectively as any employee in the role. An example would be working as a CSR 1 or an Office Coordinator. To be a strong team leader, you have to have the job knowledge to understand what a role might be dealing with fully. Bluebird was founded on Humility and Teamwork; it is expected that the GMs operate that way.
  • It is an expectation that the GM makes training an integral part of the daily duties. Train and develop staff utilizing our 12 Tier Leadership Development Program as well as the Manager in Training Program. Mentoring our teammates with positive energy, clarity, and charisma will help lead people to greatness.
  • The GM is expected to operate at a very high level of accountability and hold their team to that same level of responsibility. This is demonstrated by doing what you say you will do, following company SOPs and daily operational expectations, making good customer and business decisions, and delegating tasks to others to help their long-term career development.
  • The GM ensures that there is no one point of failure at a location; more than one person knows how to do one thing. There are no tasks too small for someone to do, everyone should have a purpose in the work that they perform.
  • Manage daily operations with a sharp eye on the controls.
  • Maintain your location's Grand Opening Ready every shift of every day.
  • Effective equipment maintenance checks, maintenance wash systems monitoring as well as following weekly and monthly maintenance schedules
  • Ensures that the leadership team conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and by company policy.
  • Prepares and presents budgets for areas of responsibility to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • All other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Walking and moving for several hours each day.
  • Verbal and Written Communication with employees and customers frequently during the day.
  • Ability to stand, bend and stoop for long periods during your shift
  • Ability to work in variable conditions that include wet, humid, dusty, and odors for up to 8-12 hours at a time, inside and outside in the elements.
  • Ability to lift, carry and reach an overhead minimum of 25 lb. loads frequently during your shift
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including travel, to meet the needs of the business, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position requires 50 hours per week.
Salary: $70,000-$80,000.
Up to $50,000 Bonus
