Summary
We are recruiting a high-impact, growth-minded Sales Engineer Manager to manage and lead a $40M portfolio. Spearhead the aggressive growth of profitable sales for our client's products (gensets, automatic transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, packaging solutions, etc.).
You will engage EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firms, consulting engineers, and other specifying and purchasing entities in this role. As the primary owner of market and account planning activities, you will take charge of the success or failure outcomes across all target accounts and assigned projects, whether working independently or in collaboration with distributors.

Responsibilities
Lead sales efforts for EPC and engineering firms, focusing on key market segments such as data centers, hospitals, hospitality, and water and wastewater while targeting other key accounts as determined.
Develop and execute sales strategies across the entire project value chain, engaging each market segment's end-users, engineers, procurement, contractors, and distributors. Implement "pull" marketing approaches to generate qualified leads and close deals, focusing on profit or loss for each project.
Build lasting relationships with key individuals at targeted accounts, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle. Guide the initial design stage, assisting with project requirements, drawings, and specifications.
Demonstrate expertise in industry power products (generators, ATS, paralleling switchgear, custom enclosures, etc.), relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, UL, IBC, etc.), and on-site power system design and integration.
Oversee the preparation and negotiation of project quotations from targeted accounts. Collaborate with the Sales Operations team, suppliers, and the distribution network to ensure timely and accurate quotes and preliminary drawings.
Actively participate in trade events and associations, promoting the client's presence. Collaborate with Marketing and Engineering to create technical and application-specific white papers for marketing collateral, trade journals, and conferences.
Support the development and implementation of Sales excellence initiatives, including processes, training, tools, sales presentations, and project tracking metrics.
Provide guidance and support to assigned sales associates, fostering their sales acumen and contributing to overall sales growth.
Education, Skills, and Experience
B.S. Engineering Degree is required (BS ARCE, BSEE, or BSME preferred)
5 years of power generation or related industry experience, including direct sales on strategic/national accounts or equivalent experience as a consulting engineer, sales engineer, applications engineer, etc.
If not an Engineering Degree, 10 years of power generation or related industry experience
MBA or Professional Engineering License (PE) is preferred but not required
Experience with at least one of the following market segments: data centers, hospitals, water and wastewater, emergency backup power, or other key applications or industry types (preferred, but not required)
Proven leadership, results-oriented professionalism, aggressive self-starter, and solid communication are essential characteristics.
Experience with designing and specifying Emergency backup systems or the proven technical acumen preferred
Ability to network and build relationships, including being active in professional trade organizations
Must be a high impact executive, able to establish instant trust and credibility with shareholders, customers, and vendors.
Demonstrated people skills required to lead and motivate professionals in a matrix organization who are not direct reports.
Ability to read construction documents, review technical specifications, and develop a technical quote preferred.
