The Transporter is responsible for safe, efficient transportation of patients throughout the hospital. This position performs selected patient care activities as assigned and makes decisions both independently and in collaboration with RNs and/or RTs. The Transporter enters pertinent information regarding said transfers into Meditech and/or paper based charting as directed. The Transporter is responsible for intradepartmental stocking or gathering of materials and supplies for nursing units from central supply and blood bank as assigned. The Transporter has direct patient contact, access to confidential patient information, and may work collaboratively with a variety of disciplines.
