Vernis & Bowling's Atlanta office has an opening for a legal assistant with preferably 2 plus years of Georgia workers' compensation experience on the defense side.
Ideal candidates should type at least 70 words per minute and be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Adobe XI and have familiarity with document management and billing software programs. Experience with Client Profiles/Aderant Total Office and Juris time entry a plus. Most importantly, the candidate should be extremely organized, and be able to multi-task, prioritize, and work well under pressure.
Other ideal skill sets for the paralegal position include:
- Familiarity with the State Board of Workers' Compensation ICMS system
- Accuracy and proof-reading
- Handling routine tasks and communications
- Opening and Closing files
- Preparing and following up on settlement packages
- Independently handling various administrative issues
