Job Title: Contract Attorney

Location: Atlanta, GA

Job Description: We are seeking dedicated Contract Attorneys to join a dynamic team in our non-profit organization dedicated to providing civil legal services. The ideal candidates will work in one of our offices across the Atlanta metro area, focusing on a variety of civil legal matters that may include family law, housing rights, consumer advocacy, employment issues, healthcare, public benefits, and educational law.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a mixed caseload across multiple civil law disciplines utilizing various methods such as community education, advice and referral, brief service, transactional work, negotiation, mediation, and litigation.
  • Engage in courthouse clinics and other community-based services to assist clients effectively.
  • Collaborate with various community groups and participate in local bar associations to enhance service delivery.
  • Customize legal strategies to the individual needs of clients, ensuring comprehensive support.
  • Responsibilities and case types may vary based on specific needs and office location.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or eligible to sit for the next bar exam.
  • Ideal candidates will have between three to five years of relevant legal experience, though new law school graduates with significant clinical or volunteer experience will also be considered.
  • Strong legal writing, oral advocacy, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of non-profit organizations and a passion for public service.
  • Familiarity with the legal challenges faced by underserved populations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Compensation:

  • Starting at $30 per hour plus
  • Hybrid work environment with the possibility to work remotely two days a week after the initial probationary period.
