Acuity Inc is Hiring a Senior Project Manager Near Washington, DC

Overview

Acuity, Inc. seeks a dynamic, self-motivated Sr. Project Manager with experience leading project teams. Your expertise will facilitate the execution of IT projects by evaluating project feasibility; establishing, developing, implementing, and controlling project plans; supporting operations; and analyzing project results.

In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. You will take projects from original concept through final implementation and interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, technical/feature team, and stakeholders. You will define project scope, objectives and product vision; develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. You will also conduct project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. In doing this, you will ensure adherence to quality standards, while managing the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. You will ensure all required project artifacts are completed accurately and on time. You will also provide technical and analytical guidance to project team. Identifies and monitors project risks, escalating as appropriate. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. Able to perform to responsibilities utilizing agile and waterfall software methodologies, while supporting customization of COTS, Open Source software, and custom development.

Responsibilities

  • Determines IT project feasibility by examining project alignment with organizational strategies and plans
  • Develops IT project business case
  • Advocate Agile Values
  • Establishes IT project plan by determining project objectives, technical approach, schedules, funding, and staffing
  • Gathers and documents business and system requirements
  • Coordinates and leads project team meetings with technical staff and other key stakeholders
  • Establishes financial objectives by preparing a project budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions
  • Controls IT project plan by managing changes; reviewing open issues; communicating essential information to project team and stakeholders
  • Develops communications plans for enterprise wide IT deployments
  • Prepares IT project status reports and presentations by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains project documentation repository

Qualifications

  • Bachlors or appropriant relevant experience
  • 5 years experience in leading development in multiple software development project teams
  • 2 years experience in leading multiple agile software development project teams
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated Scrum Master/Development Team Lead experience with Agile development methodologies and processes (Scrum or Kanban, Scrum in particular) on actual multiple project/program engagements required
  • Strong Agile Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) experience required
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Preferred Skills

  • Strong familiarity with Department of State (DOS), DOS IRM highly preferred
  • Experience with MS Project

Preferred Certs

  • PMP, CSM and ITIL certifications

Clearance Requirements

  • Must be US Citizenship with active Top Secret clearance verifiable in JPAS
