*Community Program Coordinator (Bi-lingual in Spanish and English)*
Job Description:
· Application assistance to people on Long Island in need of SNAP (formerly known as Food Stamps) benefits, with a focus on underserved communities.
· Respond to inquiries regarding SNAP or other benefits assistance for clients having difficulties with their current benefits.
· Complete SNAP applications over the phone or provide the tools needed for them to fill out the applications.
· Data entry and keep records regarding assistance provided.
· Participate in outreach activities with community partners as needed.
Requirements:
· High School Diploma with post-secondary education or training preferred.
· 1-2 years’ experience in customer service or a human service organization
· Bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Haitian Creole is also of interest.
· Knowledge of resources and services available for struggling families.
· Excellent telephone communication skills
· Good computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google.
Schedule:
·40 Hours Per Week on site. Schedule is partially flexible.
