Assistant Project Manager Job Location Washington DC & Surrounding Area Job Description This position is responsible for assisting the Project Management Team with the daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of project(s) to meet time and cost objectives with respect to safety, contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administration functions. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Other duties may be assigned. • Prepare/submit all project submittals and maintain all project logs. Track and obtain properly executed documents to include contracts, insurance certificates, bonds and other documents as required to protect company interests • Provide support information to the detailed project construction progress schedule in coordination with Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors and suppliers. Update the schedule on a timely basis or as required by the Project with guidance from the primary Project Manager. • Prepare change proposals, learn to negotiate change orders, execute change orders, issue change orders to subcontractors and others and prepare revisions to the budget, as a result of change orders and management revisions with direction of primary Project Manager. • Assist in the development of cost estimates of assigned projects. Required Experience • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field or equivalent construction experience. • Current Must have active security clearance at TS/SCI, but willing to consider TS or S level and sponsor for higher clearance level • Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering and construction project management, including safety standards. • Project management and scheduling software experience (i.e. MS Project or other). • MS Office - Microsoft Word & Excel experience. Physical Job Demands: Reaching above and below, stooping and bending. Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment, file, and perform specialized skills. Needs a high degree of concentration in a busy office and field environment.
