Overview : Our client requires a System Security Specialist to support Production System Services initiatives and other departmental information systems.

This role involves designing and implementing cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and cybersecurity requirements.

The System Security Specialist will work under the direction of the Department's Data Processing Manager(s) to achieve project goals and objectives, focusing on both technical research and practical implementation.

Key Responsibilities :

• Cloud Solutions Design and Implementation :
• Design and implement cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 to meet judiciary requirements.
• Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure Active Directory).
• Create and implement comprehensive security plans using Windows Defender, Data Loss Prevention, and Advanced Threat Protection.
• Modernize on-premises applications by leveraging Azure services.
• Integrate third-party applications in collaboration with vendor support.
• Technical Support and Troubleshooting :
• Provide Tier-3 support to assist IT staff nationwide with advanced technical issues.
• Communicate technical issues effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Serve as an escalation resource for Microsoft Windows and mentor team members.
• Documentation and Project Management :
• Develop and maintain project documentation including infrastructure diagrams, installation documentation, upgrade assessments, and knowledge-based articles.
• Lead Azure-related projects independently or in collaboration with team members.
• Generate comprehensive documentation for cloud solutions, detailing both high-level overviews and specific technical configurations.
• Microsoft 365 Support and Monitoring :
• Support Microsoft 365 products such as Office 365 Apps and Services, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
• Monitor Microsoft 365 and Azure services, preparing reports on usage and system health.
• Assess governance needs and evaluate security configuration options for the Microsoft 365 platform.
• Architecture and Leadership :
• Act as the primary technical expert in the Microsoft 365 domain.
• Translate business requirements into architectural designs and communicate them to C-level executives.
• Lead end-to-end implementations of Microsoft 365 workloads.
• Provide expertise and lead significant service migrations to Microsoft 365.
• Collaborate with Infosec teams to ensure designs adhere to security best practices and organizational requirements.
• Mentor and coach other IT team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

• Experience :
• Advanced experience managing Azure Directory Sync in a hybrid environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server OS (2016, 2019, 2022).
• Technical Skills :
• Knowledge of Azure and O365 application and infrastructure architecture.
• Practical understanding of networking principles.
• Ability to design, implement, and support Microsoft 365 Government (GCC) environments.
• Proficiency in using PowerShell for managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows servers and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Strong project leadership skills and the ability to provide architectural input for system designs.
