Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate On-Call Overnight Hospice Nurse to join our team. As an On-Call Overnight Hospice Nurse, you will provide expert nursing care and emotional support to terminally ill patients and their families during the night shift, weekends, and occasional holidays. This position requires flexibility, empathy, and the ability to provide comfort and reassurance to patients and families during challenging times.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in their homes or inpatient facilities during overnight shifts.
• Assess patients' physical and emotional needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by the attending physician.
• Monitor patients' condition and vital signs, and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families, addressing their concerns and providing comfort during difficult times.
• Educate patients and families about the hospice philosophy, pain management, symptom control, and end-of-life care options.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care activities and communication with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

• Current RN or LPN license in Georgia
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in hospice, palliative care, or a related field.
• Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing (CHPN) preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in emergency situations.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed.
