The Draft Service & Install Technician (DSIT) is tasked with possessing and maintaining detailed knowledge of all draft beer system operations, carrying out preventive maintenance agreements (PMA) and various troubleshooting issues. The DSIT will also help with any full system installation work at the direction of the service manager. The DSIT will have two main objectives each day. The first will be to conduct PMAs and any service work which the service manager assigns to ensure draft beer systems are running in their market. The second is to assist the installation technicians as needed. The daily schedule will be dictated by the service manager to include install work.

Job Duties for Service

  • Demonstrate knowledge of all types of draft beer systems to include:
    • Keg box/through-the-wall systems
    • Air-cooled systems
    • Long draw systems
    • Ability to troubleshoot all draft beer system issues that occur from routine operations.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and install all other liquid dispensing systems.
    • Ability to replace pumps/motors on a glycol unit.
    • Perform a glycol PMA using company guidelines.
  • Tasks to include:
    • Replacing FOBs
    • Installing add-a-taps to existing keg box towers or through-the-wall systems
    • Installing blenders
    • Convert existing CO2 lines to nitrogen setups for Guinness/other nitrogenized beers or wines
    • Convert nitrogen lines to CO2
    • Servicing or replacing secondary regulators
    • Replacing flowmeters
    • Repairing parts on frozen drink machines

Job Duties for Installations

  • Carry out the installation of a long draw system that includes all necessary duties from pulling the trunk line to balancing the system, and tower placement upon completion.
  • Complete short draw system installation such as through the wall set up or a trunk line that doesn't need a glycol unit.
  • Must be able to assemble a keg box with different tap configurations.
  • Assemble a dual temperature-controlled wine-on-tap dispenser from two (2) to (8) taps.
  • Progress through all 3 levels of the Certified Installer Program (CIP)

Position Requirements:

  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Excellent customer service and hospitality skills.
  • Clear written and oral communication ability.
  • Comfortable with smartphones and mobile applications
  • Ability to learn and retain draft beer system operations and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical requirements: (lifting, bending, climbing, driving, etc.)
  • Must have a valid, unexpired driver's license
  • Must be available for rotating, on-call weekends

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food & beverage/hospitality (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of draft systems (preferred)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a service-based industry
