Description

Job Description. The African American Resiliency Program is a Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) program that provides services in culturally appropriate settings, incorporating African American philosophies and traditions as a platform from which to offer mental health, educational programs, early intervention services and promote resilience in African American children and youth ages 5-18 and their families.

The program will provide Prevention, Early Intervention, and Outreach for increasing recognition of early signs of mental illness services using the Improving Timely Access, Stigma Discrimination reduction and Access to linkage to treatment strategies.

Under direction and in partnership with the Executive Director, the Program Coach will ensure program wide compliance and risk management adherence as Greater Hope Foundation continues to grow. A new position in the organization, the Program Manager will have the opportunity to build the program and services for the communities. 

Key Performance Areas:

  • Manage coordination for this program start up and continued operation.
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are 
  • Assess product, compliance, or operational risks and develop risk management strategies.
  • Identify program implementation issues that require follow-up or investigation.
  • Disseminate written policies and procedures.
  • File appropriate reports with required agencies.
  • Ensuring the provision of group educational sessions, maintaining case documentation and providing participants with linkages and referrals for services as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in social services, human services or public relations with demonstrated public relations skills. A Master's Degree is a plus.
  • Trained and highly skilled in child development, early childhood mental health, parenting, screening and assessment and other listed best practices.
  • Skilled at public speaking, presentation and have excellent knowledge of community resources specific to these underserved populations. 
  • Must have knowledge of the population served with a strong commitment to the core values to services for the children and families.
  • Proficient in Spanish preferred
