Accounting and Finance Manager (Japanese Speaking)

Responsibilities:

• Monitor business performance and collaborate with the management team to identify necessary actions and drive their implementation
• Establish accounting operations and frameworks for new business ventures
• Oversee accounting and financial management for group companies based in Singapore and Japan
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including the development of long-term budgets and forecasts
• Manage monthly and annual financial closing processes
• Ensure tax reporting and compliance with relevant local and international regulations
• Oversee core financial functions, including funding, cash flow management, investment planning, capital cost control, financial analysis, and risk management
• Lead internal audit processes and implement risk mitigation strategies
• Recommend and execute improvements to financial and operational processes
• Manage day-to-day cash flow, including payment and deposit transactions
• Coordinate with external accounting firms and regulatory bodies
• Provide leadership, training, and operational guidance to the accounting team
• Support general business management operations and strategic initiatives
• Offer support for overseas branch operations as needed
• Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by senior management

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a proven track record in team leadership
• Proficiency in English & Japanese language to liaise with internal and external Japanese speaking clients (preferably JLPT N2 or above)
• Familiarity with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Strong knowledge of standalone and consolidated financial statement preparation (monthly, quarterly, annually)
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB within the Singapore context
• Strong IT literacy and ability to adapt to new financial technologies
• Experience with data analysis tools and techniques is added as advantage
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills is added as advantage
• Prior experience working in an owner-managed or founder-led company is added as advantage
