Job Summary:

Role: Senior OS Linux Administrator in Singapore

Start: ASAP

Duration: 12 Months

As a member of the Infrastructure Shared Services, the Senior OS Linux Administrator will represent his/her department towards the Business Units and project teams and will assure a determining role in the management, support, maintenance, implementation, administration and lifecycle management of Linux platforms.

He/she will be positioned as a level 3 in the organization, using his/her expertise for level of escalation in case of incidents and for the contribution in the qualification of new solutions, assisting in the deployment. The role is broadly split between providing day to day operational support for existing infrastructure services and users of those services, and project based work leading to the development and deployment of new infrastructure services.

This person must have deep knowledge in RHEL Linux and Scripting/Automation and must be able to lead, operate and continuously improve the environments distributed throughout Asia Pacific.

Requirements:

- 3-7 years experience in Infrastructure, with 3-5 years specifically on Linux operating systems

- Self motivated, eager to learn in the IT profession

- Team player must be able to work with people within and outside of the IT department

- Customer service oriented

- Ability to analyze and synthesize situations and understand the business constraints

Primary Technical skills:

- Certified RHCSA minimum

- Installation, administration, and troubleshooting in the following Linux areas:

- Automating OS install and update

- Managing services and startup

- Configuring network

- Managing RPM packets

- Performance analysis (on a physical server or virtual server platform)

- Managing disk volumes in a SAN environment using dm-multipath and LVM

- Tuning system & kernel

- Managing users and security

- PAM, SELinux

- Advanced Shell scripting (bash, awk, sed, perl).

- Management of system services: printing, FTP, NFS, syslog, SNMP, etc.

Secondary Technical skills:

- Cloud infrastructure experience (Azure in priority, AWS)

- Ubuntu – CentOS systems

- Storage experience

- VMware experience

- Linux RedHat Enterprise 7 and 8

- Windows Server

- OS Client: Windows 10 and 11

- Microsoft Active Directory

- VMWare

- Storage: Netapp, VMWare vSAN

- Veeam Backup & Replication

- Backup Veeam & Solarwinds Monitoring

- Network Cisco & Palo Alto FW

Primary Responsibilities:

- Maintain under operational conditions the current RHEL platforms and the new RHEL platforms in respect of the Support processes

- Build, deploy and administer/manage the current and future RHEL platforms

- Senior level of operational support on:

• Troubleshooting, incidents and problem management,
• Reporting and communication.
• Automation

- Assist new implementations of all System Infrastructure components such as

• Physical and virtual servers
• Middleware components (backup, scheduling, monitoring, etc.)

- Pro-active in ensuring stability, response time, operational consistency and life cycle over the Linux operating systems

- Propose and implement automation

Secondary Responsibilities:

- Support Cloud Azure and Storage solution

- Contribute to search and qualification to new solutions

- Ensure appropriate documentation, including procedures for level2 support
