Summary: IHL is looking for a Colorist to join our team! The Colorist will be responsible for color & product integrity along with supporting the cross functional teams in evaluating submits to ensure color and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities: 

• Comment on lab dips, knit downs, strike offs, bulk fabrics, bulk trims, submits, etc.
• Depending on the account, will need to enter information and create submits forms in PLM systems.
• Be able to utilize a light booth for proper color evaluation.
• In collaboration with team, review color submissions & advise corrections or approvals for submits prior to production.
• Provide direction to mills in fabric quality issues during the production process.
• Communicate color comments (both rejections & approvals) to appropriate business partners (suppliers/ factories).
• File all submits & records daily.
• Review all Pre-Production and Top of Production samples to ensure color & product matches approved bulk colors & prints.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in textiles, fashion, or related field.
• 3 years of experience in color production experience.
• Superior color vision.
• Must follow the production calendar closely to ensure all submits, comments, & approvals are on time in order to keep production on schedule.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of organizational skills.
• Must be detail oriented, be able to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
• Ability to work well in a cross functional environment.
• Knowledgeable in intimate apparel construction.

Additional Qualifications: 

• Ability to operate spectrophotometer & working knowledge of spectrophotometers and color quality control.

Job Logistics

Location: New York, NY – Midtown West

Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000-$90,000.
