JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to lead American Financing’s AI capabilities. Reporting directly to the CTO, the ideal candidate has enough breadth and depth throughout the AI landscape to build foundational data infrastructure, collaborate on business use cases, define ops processes, and build and deploy ML models

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Computer Engineering, Electrical engineering, Mathematics, or degree in a similar field; master’s in computer science preferred.
• 5-7 years of expert level proficiency in Machine Learning and AI with experience in large scale training and deployment of ML architectures.
• Experience working with one or more of the popular ML frameworks (PyTorch/Tensorflow/JAX)
• Experience building and working with ML-focused data stacks, pipelines, warehouses and feature stores
• Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on business outcomes
• Experience managing cross-functional technology teams, including hiring and training

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong domain knowledge in Financial Services, and more specifically in the Mortgage space
• Experience working with OCR and document processing solutions
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform
• Willingness to relocate to San Juan, Puerto Rico is a plus

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with domain experts to define AI/ML opportunities across the organization’s value chain
• Lead the development of the foundational data and technical stack to serve the AI Solutions
• Develop MLOps and Data Ops tech, process and governance solutions necessary to build, train, validate and deploy ML models and their associated data domains
• Identify which AI opportunities are better suited for outside partnerships vs building and deploying models internally.
• Lead vendor selection for partnership opportunities, as well as onboarding and integration processes
• Build End-to-End ML solutions, from Model selection and Feature engineering to production deployment and fine tuning
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI/ML and different industries to drive innovation.

Compensation: $155,000 annually
