Supervises daily activities of the medical transcription department to optimize productivity. Assigns, schedules and oversees the work of the transcription area of the department. Ensures that physician's dictations are completed correctly and promptly. May perform transcriptions as needed. May require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT). Supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs.
