Store Associate

The Fortessa Store, an upscale tableware retailer located in One Loudoun, is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to restaurateurs, chefs, and food enthusiasts alike.

Position Summary: This position is responsible for consumer sales, while also working with customers in the commercial channel (restaurants, caterers, clubs, etc.) as necessary. This position will also assist in ensuring consistently exceptional customer experiences as well as compelling merchandise presentations in order to maximize the business results of The Fortessa Store.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Sales Activity:

• With a focus on retail customers (consumers), must also be able to assist with commercial customers in the store as needed (ringing up at register, finding items, assisting with merchandise, etc.)
• Greets incoming/outgoing customers with ‘can-do’ attitude, exemplifying The Fortessa Store’s high level of customer service and complete customer satisfaction.
• Assists with other store duties as assigned.

Store Operations:

• Participates in daily store activities (register, sales, and closing responsibilities, etc.) 
• Assists in the day-to-day retail operational requirements as needed, such as merchandising, signage, stock levels and partnering with Store team to assist in overseeing daily store cleaning and recovery, as applicable.
• Helps maintain product inventory level on sales floor with appropriate price SKUs. 
• Assist with breaking down, organizing, and stocking weekly transfer shipments.
• Promotes a clean work environment for customers and team members by dusting, light sweeping, breaking down, and disposing of cardboard boxes. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Excellent time management, scheduling and organizational skills.
• Excellent follow through and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member.
• High energy and motivated self-starter who makes a positive first impression on all customer interactions.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• The staff member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.  The staff member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus as necessary to read a computer monitor, catalogs, orders, and customer communications, etc.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, in the English language, as this is essential to communicating information to supervisors, coworkers and customers in a way that they can understand.
• Must be able to communicate in a knowledgeable manner on various Fortessa products/services and sell to prospective customers.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work under stress, interruptions and tight deadlines.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret print media, trade publications and websites that are in English.
• Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information, and respond to questions from supervisors, customers, and sales / store staff.
• Ability to prioritize work, problem solve, and answer questions.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to operate office equipment, e-mail, computer and phone system.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with co-workers in order to prioritize workflow, request assistance if needed and assist others in achieving company goals.
• Results-oriented with a positive outlook.
• Reliable, persistent and determined to succeed.

Position open to all US residents legally authorized to work in the US.

Competitive hourly wage  of $17 per hour, without benefits as this is a part-time job.

Opportunity is open to candidates 18 years and older.
