Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Quality Assurance and Sanitation Manager to lead our quality systems and sanitation programs. In this vital role, you will ensure our manufacturing processes meet rigorous standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and uphold our reputation for top-tier product quality. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement in quality control, sanitation practices, and regulatory compliance across all operations.
Directly responsible for Food Safety and Overall Product Quality and cleanliness for all.
Directly supervises Quality Assurance department, Sanitation including SanitationTeam Lead.
This position reports directly to CEO.
Key Responsibilities
Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance
· Serve as the company lead and subject matter expert for all regulatory compliance matters.
· Lead all USDA interactions including inspections, documentation, non-compliance responses (NRs), and corrective actions.
· Own and manage compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, and all food safety systems.
· Act as the primary company representative during all audits (USDA, SQF, third-party, and customer quality audits).
· Ensure the facility is always audit-ready (“SQF Ready Every Day”).
· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local food safety regulations, including USDA documentation, reporting, and corrective actions.
· Maintain and oversee all regulatory documentation, records, and required filings with complete accuracy.
· Proactively identify compliance risks and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
· Monitor regulatory changes and ensure company policies and programs remain fully compliant.
Quality Assurance Leadership
· Develop, implement, and continuously improve processes that ensure all products meet or exceed customer and company specifications.
· Monitor daily production yields, waste, and quality metrics; partner with operations to drive improvements.
· Interface with Sales, Marketing, and customers on product quality and complaints, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
· Maintain accurate department records, reports, and data integrity for traceability.
· Reports weekly measurements to the management meetings.
Sanitation & Facility Hygiene
· Oversee all sanitation operations, including SSOPs, cleaning validation, and verification procedures.
· Supervise sanitation team members and ensure consistent cleaning effectiveness (first-pass quality).
· Drive a culture of “SQF Ready Every Day” across sanitation and QA functions.
Leadership & People Development
· Directly supervise QA Technicians, Sanitation Team Leads, and Sanitation Team Members.
· Provide regular coaching, feedback, and documented one-on-one meetings; escalate disciplinary actions when needed.
· Identify training opportunities for team development and personal growth.
Strategic & Cross-Functional Support
· Participate in weekly company management meetings and be prepared to discuss relevant opportunities or issues.
· Support co-manufacturers and co-packers to ensure alignment with company standards.
Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
