Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook hibachi-style dishes in front of guests with flair, precision, and professionalism.
- Deliver an engaging, interactive, and entertaining dining experience while maintaining food quality and safety standards.
- Demonstrate knife skills, grill techniques, and performance tricks (flame shows, onion volcano, etc.) while cooking.
- Ensure workstations, tools, and hibachi grills are kept clean, sanitized, and organized at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage prep work, inventory, and timely food service.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and storage.
- Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Hibachi Chef or Teppanyaki Chef (2 years preferred).
- Strong knife and grill skills with a flair for showmanship.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Certifications Required
- Food Handler Certification (required by Illinois Department of Public Health).
- Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification (FSSMC) preferred.
- Alcohol safety certification (BASSET) is a plus, but not mandatory.

Pay: $76,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
