With three successful locations operating in the Valley, Zu Izakaya is a Japanese-themed restaurant specializing in fresh sushi and Asian kitchen dishes. Our newest location will have a strong focus on ramen while continuing to deliver high-quality sushi and traditional Japanese cuisine.
We are currently seeking an experienced Sushi Chef with strong knife skills, creativity, and a passion for Japanese cuisine to join our team.
Position: Sushi Chef, Line Cook, Dishwasher

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
About the Role:
The ideal candidate has a solid background in sushi preparation and understands traditional Japanese techniques. While this location will emphasize ramen service, maintaining exceptional sushi quality and presentation remains a top priority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls to high standards
- Ensure freshness, quality control, and proper food handling procedures
- Maintain clean and organized sushi station
- Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
- Support kitchen operations as needed, especially in coordination with ramen service
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of sushi chef experience
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of fish breakdown
- Understanding of Japanese ingredients and flavor profiles
- Ability to maintain consistency and presentation standards
- Team-oriented mindset with strong work ethic
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
