Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Operations Manager in Cincinatti, OH. This role is responsible for overseeing daily transportation operations, fleet management, safety compliance, and regulatory adherence.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in transportation operations, DOT regulations, and driver safety programs, who can balance operational efficiency with strict compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Fleet Management
- Oversee fleet operations, including maintenance, dispatch, scheduling, and vehicle availability
- Coordinate in-house and third-party repairs, ensuring timely service completion
- Perform daily key audits and account for all vehicles on-site
- Manage vehicle onboarding and decommissioning processes
- Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures
- Analyze performance metrics and develop strategies for operational improvement
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery
Safety & Compliance
- Monitor and enforce driver safety protocols across assigned locations
- Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
- Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations (including DOT requirements)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for driver qualifications, background checks, and drug & alcohol testing
- Investigate accidents and incidents, developing corrective action plans
- Partner with driver services and safety teams to ensure full compliance with company standards and contracts
- Stay current on evolving regulatory requirements
Leadership & Support
- Lead, mentor, and support operations staff and drivers
- Assist in developing and delivering driver training and safety programs
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing work environment
- Address customer inquiries and resolve operational issues efficiently
- Communicate effectively with drivers, leadership, and regulatory agencies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in transportation operations, logistics, or fleet management
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience with transportation management systems and reporting tools
- Ability to analyze data and make informed operational decisions
- Valid Driver’s License
