What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stamping Press Operator position at ZSI Manufacturing (American Belleville)?
We are hiring multiple Stamping Press Operators to join our company. This position is responsible for setting up compound/progressive die sets for production in the stamping press and operating the press to produce parts to a work order.
Job Duties:
Assembles, installs and aligns dies in the press according to specification.
Feeds steel to the die through the straightener and feeder making the necessary adjustments.
Inspects setup pieces for conformance to work order specifications, adjust tooling and/or setup to achieve conformance.
Monitor process during run performing in process inspections as required.
Perform basic measurements and monitoring with caliper, micrometer, scale & gauges
Follows all safe work procedures and general plant rules while performing the job.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred; and three to five years of related experience and/or training; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Specific: Ability to use measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and height gage. Ability to use basic hand tools. Forklift experience and certification a plus.
Physical Requirements: Occasionally walks, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls; regularly, moves up to 50 pounds, stands, uses hands and fingers to handle, or feel; may occasionally move up to 100 pounds with the use of a dolly, cart or other mechanical equipment. Reaches with hands and arms.
