Senior Labor Relations Manager - Pittsburgh, PA.
The Senior Labor Relations Manager is responsible for developing and executing labor relations strategies while fostering positive and productive relationships with unions and represented employees. This role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, Human Resources and business leaders on collective bargaining, contractor administration, grievance management, labor law compliance, and workforce relations.
Labor Relations / Advisory:
· Provide practical, day-to-day labor relations guidance to managers and HR on CBA interpretation and application.
· Respond to routine and moderately complex employee and union-related issues.
· Support consistent application of labor agreements, policies, and practices.
· Partner with HR and leadership to address workplace concerns and promote positive labor relations.
· Assist in proactive labor management process developments.
Grievance Management and Arbitration Support
· Prepare and support final-step grievance responses, including documentation, case summaries, and recommended outcomes.
· Participate in grievance meetings and assist in resolution discussions.
· Support locations in preparation for arbitration.
· Escalate high-risk or precedent-setting cases to legal partners as appropriate.
Wage Evaluation & Compensation Support
· Conduct job and wage evaluations in alignment with CBA provisions and internal guidelines.
· Analyze reclassification and pay adjustment requests and provide recommendations.
· Support compensation reviews by gathering and analyzing relevant data.
· Ensure wage decisions are equitable, consistent, and compliant with contractual obligations.
Union Relations
· Maintain professional working relationships with union representatives.
· Support proactive preparation for bargaining activities (e.g., data gathering, benchmarking, administrative support) as needed.
· Assist with contract negotiations as appropriate based on the size of the bargaining unit and familiarity with the operations.
Compliance & Documentation
· Ensure adherence to labor laws, CBAs, and organizational policies.
· Maintain accurate records of grievances, resolutions, and labor relations activities.
· Identify potential risks and escalate concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
You have: (required)
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, business administration, or a related field.
· Seven years’ minimum experience in Human Resources and Labor Relations.
· Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
