Position Overview
Mesorah High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our General Studies faculty. Reporting directly to the General Studies Principal, the Mathematics Teacher will deliver high-quality math instruction using the school’s curriculum and All Things Algebra resources, while maintaining strong classroom management, fostering positive student relationships, and supporting a warm and structured learning environment.
The ideal candidate is an experienced educator who demonstrates strong leadership in the classroom, communicates effectively with students and parents, collaborates well with faculty, and serves as a role model who reflects the mission and values of our school.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction in accordance with curricular requirements and accreditation standards.
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans for assigned courses.
- Teach from among the school’s four math classes, which include:
- • Algebra 1
- • Geometry (3 levels)
- Teaching assignments may include some or all courses depending on faculty load and areas of interest.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of grades, attendance, and assignments using Gradelink, the school’s learning management system.
- Establish and uphold a positive and supportive classroom environment grounded in respect, structure, and student growth.
- Communicate consistently and professionally with students and families, partnering with parents to support academic success.
- Collaborate with teachers, instructional coaches, administrators, and student support staff to promote best teaching practices.
- Regularly assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs, incorporating differentiated strategies based on assessment data.
- Support school policies, initiatives, and community expectations as an active member of the Mesorah High School faculty.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Mathematics or Education preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum frameworks and instructional best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting, positive relationships with students and staff.
- Demonstrated classroom leadership skills and the ability to maintain a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Strong work ethic, professional integrity, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative school culture.
