About the role
Aurora Customs Brokerage files directly through CBP's ABI system, maintaining a 99.4% on-time clearance rate. We're hiring a Customs Entry Writer to prepare and support entry filings under the direction of our licensed brokers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and input formal (Type 01/03/06) and informal entry data into ABI under broker supervision
- Support ISF (10 2) filing for ocean shipments ahead of the 24-hour pre-departure deadline
- Verify HTS classification, country of origin, and declared value against broker-assigned codes for accuracy
- Assemble commercial invoices, packing lists, and Bills of Lading for entry filing
- Prepare documentation to support PGA holds — FDA, USDA APHIS, EPA, FCC — as needed
- Assist with duty, MPF, and HMF calculations and flag applicable Section 301/232/201 tariffs
- Support exam and hold coordination (CET, tailgate exams, VACIS imaging) by assembling required records quickly
- Keep shipment status current in the client portal so clients can track progress in real time
Qualifications
- Experience in customs entry writing, import documentation, or a related logistics role (strong entry-level candidates considered)
- Familiarity with ABI filing or willingness to learn (training provided)
- Foundational understanding of HTS classification and CBP entry types
- High attention to detail and comfort working against fixed filing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
