Reports to: Vice President, Information Technology
Job Description: Primary responsibilities are to design, analyze, and implement efficient IT security systems to maintain Zoo Atlanta’s IT infrastructure and information systems. This includes installation of security tools, development of information security policies and provide cybersecurity training organization wide. Provide end-user assistance to help solve user-reported problems by troubleshooting problems areas (in person, by web-conference or telephone, or via work order) in a timely fashion.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze IT requirements and provide objective advice on the use of IT security systems.
- Assist with support and rollout of IT projects which may include equipment upgrades, software upgrades, system upgrades, systems hardening, cybersecurity and other projects as required.
- Perform recurring audits, lead penetration testing projects.
- Report and Proposal writing for security led initiatives.
- Network and Systems log analysis and report development.
- Promptly respond to customer support requests, providing technical assistance and active engagement within the support ticketing system.
- Test and evaluate emerging security technologies.
- Gather feedback from end users and key stakeholders to continue to improve systems security.
- Perform Vulnerability Management, identify key risks, make recommendations, and report findings.
- Lead Security Awareness Training program, perform phishing campaigns and provide follow up training material and escalate to in-person where repeat incidents or critical gaps are identified.
- Incident Reporting, aid in documenting security incidents, ensuring all relevant information is captured and accurately communicate to the appropriate stake holders for follow-up actions.
- Proactively monitor, investigate, and respond to endpoint activity through the organization’s Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) platform, partnering with our MDR provider to detect, contain, and remediate threats while safeguarding system integrity.
- Conduct recurring, investigative reviews of Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) alerts and logs to surface anomalous behavior, ensure data‑flow integrity, and coordinate timely follow‑up actions with the MDR team.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of networking tools and concepts: LAN, WAN, VPN, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, VLANs, 802.11 wireless, TCP/IP, DNS.
- Proven track record of success resolving network, hardware, software issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- 2 years of prior desktop support experience preferably within an Attractions or Hospitality environment or commensurate academic degree.
- Demonstrate commitment and ownership to pursue resolution to client requests.
- Outstanding customer service skills and an ability to work with all levels of management.
- Network and Systems Administration experience.
- Windows desktop experience (Windows 11 and earlier) within in an Active Directory environment and expertise with a variety of desktop applications including MS Office.
- Must be able to take direction, manage priorities, and perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Must possess high attention to detail and a keen aptitude for technology along with willingness to take on new challenges
Non-Technical Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- 2 or 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus.
- Security certifications are a plus.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
