Patient Observer / Sitter – Day Shift
Location: Needham, MA 02492
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 8-Hour Day Shift (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Start Date: January 5, 2026

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous 1:1 patient observation for individuals requiring safety monitoring.
• Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or behavior to nursing staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Support a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for patients.
• Communicate clearly with nurses, physicians, and patient families.
• When not assigned to a patient, assist with ancillary duties as directed by the nursing team.
• Work within both ED and inpatient nursing units.
• Weekend shifts required as scheduled.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Some college or an Associate’s degree preferred.
• BLS – AHA certification required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to show empathy and compassion.
• Ability to communicate patient needs clearly and professionally.

Schedule

• Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Days: 8-hour day shifts, including weekends as required

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Education:

• Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

• patient sitter or similar patient observation role: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Required)

Ability to Commute:

• Needham, MA 02492 (Preferred)
